CARNEGIE HALL CELEBRATES JUDY GARLAND














































Ten years ago this month there was a two night event at Carnegie Hall that celebrated the life and art of Judy Garland. We at TJGE are very proud to be presenting the world premiere of the recording from both nights over at our Yahoo group. This week we are featuring the first night that featured Lorna Luft, Jerry Herman, Bebe Neuwirth, Wesla Whitfield, Robert Morse, Nancy Dussault, Vicki Carr, and others.









Next week we will be posting the second night of the event, which features a whole new roster of talent.









Both nights were very special, you won't want to miss these ultra rare files.









DICK TRACY IN B FLAT











The infamous 1940's radio broadcast of Dick Tracy In B Flat has been posted to the Yahoo group. It features Judy with Bing Crosby, Dinah Shore, Frank Sinatra, The Andrews Sisters, Jimmy Durante, and others.

SUNDAY NIGHT AT THE PALLADIUM


Both of Judy's appearances on the British television program Sunday Night At The Palladium have been uploaded to the Yahoo group.
JUdy is spectacular on her first outing on the show (1963), and oh so soulful on her second (1969).

An interesting audio documentary on the making of the Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand version of A Star Is Born has been uploaded to the Yahoo version of The Judy Garland Experience.

MY FAVORITE HUSBAND
















Our new edition of Lady Esther Blodgett Theater (over at the Yahoo group) presents Lucille Ball in her classic radio program, My Favorite Husband. This episode is the one that inspired the Lucy And Ethel Wear The Same Dress sketch on I love Lucy.





WHERE JUDY PLAYED




There are to artists and two venue's featured on this weeks Where Judy Played. Stunning performances from Billie Holiday on The Tonight Show as well as Ray Charles on The Dick Cavett Show.

A NEW EASTER PARADE


A much cleaner sounding version of the 1951 radio musical production of Easter Parade has been uploaded to the Yahoo group. This production reunites original cast members Judy Garland and Fred Astaire. Be sure to give it a listen. Great songs and performances.

Over at the Yahoo group a few celebs are poking gentle fun at Judy (in song).




They are Carol Channing, Jimmy James, and the great Jane Horrocks (with the voice of Dean Martin).




WHERE JUDY PLAYED


This weeks featured artis on WHERE JUDY PLAYED over at the Yahoo group is Cleo Laine, who graces the group with a few songs from one of her many legendary concerts at Carnegie Hall.

THE SAGA OF BABY GUMM




In celebration of Judy Garlands birthday, the Yahoo group has posted a very rare, and private family recording, that Danny Kaye and Judy's sister Jimmie (and others) made for Judy's 21st birthday. Hope you all enjoy it as much as I am sure Judy did.


THE MASQUERS CLUB











Another fascinating posting over at the Yahoo group is Judy Garland's 1958 salute from the Masquers Club. On hand to pay tribute to Judy are Sammy Davis, Janet Leigh, George Jessell, Tony Curtis, Louella Parsons, Jeff Chandler, and many more.
