ANIMATED OZ

Glee star and Broadway veteran Lea Michele will voice the lead role in Summertime Entertainment's animated 3D musical Dorothy of Oz, according to Variety.

Voice talent will also include 2010 Tony nominee Kelsey Grammer as the Tin Man, Jim Belushi as the Lion, Dan Aykroyd as the Scarecrow, Hugh Dancy as Marshall Mallow, Oliver Platt as Wiser the Owl, Megan Hilty as the China Princess, and Martin Short as Dorothy's arch-nemesis, the Jester.

The film is written by Randi Barnes, Adam Balsam and Barry Glasser, and is an update on The Wizard of Oz. It will feature songs and lyrics by Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance. Musical components will be supervised by Vicki Hiatt with lyrics by Tift Merritt and Mike Himelstein. Jim Dooley will contribute to the score.

Dan St. Pierre will direct the film, which aims to be complete by the end of next year.
