NEW FILES POSTED TO THE YAHOO GROUP (for the week of May 8, 2011)
Here is a quick synopsis of the new audio files posted this week to the Yahoo version of The Judy Garland Experience:
A JUDY MOMENT
From the May 5, 1938 broadcast of the Good News program: Judy sings a heartfelt rendition of How Deep Is The Ocean, which is dedicated to mothers everywhere.
Bing And Rosie #68
Another episode from Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney's daily radio program for CBS. This episode originally aired on June 1, 1960.
DUET OF THE WEEK
Lorna Luft and Matt Dusk sing a swinging version of the medley Judy did with Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin on her 1962 television special (from Matt's new Live In Las Vegas CD)>
ENCORE
Joe Luft sings about a little boy looking for the sweet hello meant just for him. This is dedicated to everyone who has lost their mother.
FRANCES
Liza Minnelli pays tribute to her mother in her own unique way.
JUDY AT THE PLAZA HOTEL, 1968
Per a request.
JUDY GARLAND IN CONCERT
Per a request, Judy Garland live at Chicago's Orchestra Hall, September, 1958.
Mothers, Memories, And Magic
A few seasons ago Lorna Luft shared a Mothers Day message with our group and also told us that the song Lucky Day is the one that most exemplifies her mother in her mind and reminds her of her mother's optimism and zest for life. So here it is again, and we dedicate it to Lorna, Judy, and all mothers everywhere past and present.
MY DIME
Judy Garland, Frank, Sinatra, and Bing Crosby headline this special musical program on behalf of The March Of Dimes. Originally broadcast on January 30, 1945.
REQUESTS AND RARITIES
everything but the kitchen sink
SUNDAY MORNING SPECIAL
These radio transcriptions have been hanging around my hard drive forever and I can't remember if I ever posted them or not. And since Martha liked the S.O.S. salute to Peggy Lee that was posted in this folder last week I thought why not bring Miss Lee back for an encore.
WHERE JUDY PLAYED
Ray Charles At The Newport Jazz Festival
