Per David Price, "June 13, 1967 ... opening night at the WESTBURY MUSIC FAIR found Judy performing in the round ... the first stop of her pre-Palace summer tour in the Northeast. This was also the first time she appeared in concert wearing the glittering pantsuit created for her by Bill Travilla for her role in VALLEY OF THE DOLLS [and gifted by him to her after she left the production]."
Can't believe it's been 44 year! Where does the time go?

ReplyDeleteI just can't believe it's been 44 years! Where did the time go? Thanks to Buzz fpr keeping Judy alive for all uf us.
ReplyDeleteA dear friend bought tickets, as a gift, for Opening Night and we trekked by train out to Westbury. It became one of the greatest memories of my life! Garland had dieted (too much) and, in the process, had sacrificed some of her stamina. Hence, her sitting down on that stage and "talk-singing" a number or two. This could not have mattered less to us and the other fans in attendance. "Rip" Taylor was NOT good but dear John Bubbles was hugely talented and a great showman.
ReplyDeleteThere's a lot more to say about this ... but time and space are limited.
