NEW FILES POSTED TO THE YAHOO GROUP (for the week of July 31, 2011)
A JUDY MOMENT
Danny Boy. Two takes and session breakdown material.
BILLION DOLLAR QUARTET
Four music icons who have all reached Living Legend status, and are all admittedly unabashed Judy Garland fans, sing four of her greatest Hollywood hits.
BING AND ROSIE #387
Originally broadcast on August 23, 1961, this episode of Rosemary Clooney and Bing Crosby's daily radio show for CBS also features Ken Carpenter. The songs include Cheek To Cheek, Bye Bye Blackbird, Don't Blame Me, On The Street Where You Live, and Singing In The Rain.
COMING ATTRACTIONS
Judy promotes some of the films that will be shown at NYC's Walter Reade Theater this week.
DUET OF THE WEEK
Judy Garland and Gene Kelly sing You Wonderful You from Summer Stock (which will be on the big screen at the Walter Reade Theater this coming Saturday).
DUET OF THE WEEK 2
Gene Kelly and Liza Minnelli sing For Me And My Gal (also being screened at the Walter Reade this week)
ENCORE
Millie Jackson is tore up from the floor up.
JUDY GARLAND IN CONCERT
From Judy's last hurrah at the Palace, that miraculous engagement from the summer of love (1967). Here is a truncated recording of the night Joan Crawford called attention to herself while sitting in the audience, which led to her finding her way to the stage. Sorry for not posting the multiple night highlight folder as promised. Look for that again later in August.
REQUESTS
Two radio performances, including an original song written by Judy Garland!
SUMMER OF SONG #10
Somebody might want to try and wake Joe McCarthy because Judy Garland and her friends are naming names. Featuring Anita, O'Day Little Willie John, Hoagy Carmichael, and others.
SUNDAY MORNING SPECIAL
Hank Williams' Health and Happiness Show. Joining Hank for this complete program are Miss Audrey and The Drifting Cowboys. Songs include, Happy Rovin' Cowboy, Lost Highway, I Wanna Live And Love Always, Boil Them Cabbage Down, I'll Have A New Body, Fingers On Fire, and Sally Goodin. From November, 1952. You can't help but notice the irony in the name of the program when you take into consideration that Hank died mere weeks after this show was broadcast.
WHERE JUDY PLAYED
Liza Minnelli stirs up some some dust and memories. Recorded live at the Palace, December, 2009.
