NEW FILES POSTED TO THE YAHOO GROUP (for the week of January 22, 2012)

A JUDY MOMENT
April 6, 1968. With just a piano accompanying her, and in front of a small audience at The Plaza, Judy effectively gets her message across.

BING AND ROSIE #413
This episode of the Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney show was originally broadcast on September 28, 1961.

COULDA SHOULDA WOULDA
Etta James sings one of the all time great torch ballads. One that strangely eluded Judy Garland. Maybe she didn't like it, too bad cause she sure coulda sung the hell out of it.

DUET OF THE WEEK
Bobby Troup and June Christy reunite on Bobby's 1968 television special and sing a song that was one of Troup's first compositions and one of Christy's first hits.

ENCORE
A few more moments with the great Etta James.

HOSTESS WITH THE MOSTESS
We had a request to repost the audio files of Judy's stint as the substitute host of the Merv Griffin show (which led to this week's mini theme of 1968). Appearing with Judy are Margaret Hamilton, Arthur Treacher, Moms Mabley, Van Johnson, Rex Reed , and The Ohio Express. Taped on December 23, 1968 for broadcast in January, 1969.

JUDY GARLAND IN CONCERT
JFK Stadium, July 20, 1968. Judy's orchestra is augmented by members of the Count Basie group, and even the great Basie himself can't resist sitting in with Judy Garland. He joins the show for a medley with Judy midway through the concert.

JUDY'S GOT HER MOJO WORKING
At Judy's first appearance on the Merv Griffin show she showed up with a new song and created pandemonium. December, 1968.

MEDLEY STEW #3
Etta James sings a medley of her ballad classics.

SUNDAY MORNING SPECIAL
REMEMBERING ETTA JAMES. Ultra rare 1990 recording of Etta taking it to the streets, literally. Beale street to be exact. This outdoor concert was a gift to the good people of Memphis.
