JUDY. LONDON. 1960.
Judy in London at a Capitol Records arranged press conference, July 14, 1960. The next day she would begin recording her current concert repertoire at Abbey Road studios. Those recordings, and several outtakes and alternates from the sessions, are available on the recently released JUDY GARLAND: THE LONDON STUDIO RECORDINGS 1957-1964 CD.

The photo on top was taken when Judy attended the taping of a Sammy Davis TV special. The photo on the bottom was taken when the two performed together at the Cue Awards. They would also work together a year later on two episodes of Sammy's NBC variety show.

Another offering in our apparently endless supply of episodes from Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney's daily radio show for CBS. This episode was originally broadcast on September 25, 1961.
COULDA SHOULDA WOULDA
Another pop song for the contemporary album Judy never got to record. This time Jaye P. Morgan works her uvula off singing a a Stevie Wonder song Judy could have easily turned into gold.
DUET OF THE WEEK
It's truly a royal affair when the Swamp Boogie Queen meets the King Of The Blues!
ENCORE
In the mid 80's Keely Smith released a great little record called In Love Again. Unfortunately, the album went nowhere. But it did have several gems on it, including this track, which management feels is one of the prettiest things Keely ever recorded.

A HISTORIAN OF NOTE
Tomorrow's "This Day In Herstory" will be the last installment of that feature for this blog. Big, big thanks and gratitude go out to the remarkable David Price for taking all of us on such a wondrous journey with Judy over this past year.
The rare photos, along with David's insightful and educational commentary, have been a welcome addition to (the very grateful) The Judy Garland Experience.
And although TJGE management is saddened that the run of this show has come to it's end, we can't say thank you enough times to Mr. Price for the generosity he has bestowed upon TJGE and the Judy Garland community at large by undertaking this huge project.
But as sad as we are to see This Day In Herstory become history, we are thrilled, delighted, and bursting with pride over the fact that David will continue his association with TJGE with a brand new feature called David Price's Photo Of The Week. Look for the first edition next week. And be sure to check back every week, because just like Herstory, Photo Of The Week will feature more rare photos and enlightening factoids.
If you are reading this David, I would like to personally thank you on behalf of everyone in the world who has looked forward to your reportage on a daily basis.
Your dedication, knowledge, and style make The Judy Garland Experience a better thing.
