This morning a member of the yahoo version of The Judy Garland Experience posted something I had never heard before. It seems that in 1967 when Judy was riding the crest of that phenominal summer tour that marked yet another comeback for her, there was serious talk of starring her in a film about the late Edith Piaf. The talks were so serious that the project was assigned a director, none other than Geotge Cukor! There were plans to start incorporating Piaf songs into Judy's stage show, which would later be filmed by Cukor and inserted into the film.
Woulda, coulda, shoulda!

That would've been amazing...also, Judy really wanted to be taken seriously as an actress, and that would have done it for sure.
