HERE'S JUDY GARLAND! HERE'S HELEN O'CONNELL! HERE'S HOLLYWOOD!

JUDY GARLAND-HERE'S HOLLYWOOD-1961-A RESTORATION

Per director Frank Labrador:
"Restoration of the segment about the filming of "Judgment at Nuremburg" by NBC-TV's "Here's Hollywood" weekday series (originally broadcast on June 23, 1961). Helen O'Connell interviewed Judy Garland on camera for this segment in March 1961, but the footage that survived does not have the complete audio. Judy's replies could be heard but not Helen's questions...until NOW. Here is the radio broadcast version of this interview, which is complete. For the first time, this radio version was combined to create this brand new, restored version of this historic interview on the "Judgment at Nuremburg" film set. For portions where there is no video, behind-the-scenes photos from David Price's digital photograph collection were used. ENJOY!
Judy Garland is readied for her first scene in the film.

Judy Garland being directed by Stanley Kramer.

P.S. Please note the "Here's Hollywood" opening and end credits used in this video were lifted from a different episode in 1962 -- the only one that I could find online. So Helen's announcement about the guests for the next show is not historically correct."

JUDY AND KUP '65
Following her appearance at Chicago's Arie Crown Theater, Judy appeared on Irv Kupcinet's syndicated talk show, Kup's Show, May 8, 1965.

PENTIMENTO
What if Judy Garland had released a studio album in 1963/1964, what would it have sounded like? What songs might it have included? Utilizing the TJGS pre-recordings that Orval shared with Steve Sanders, and he subsequently shared with us, we have compiled an album that we feel could have worked as a mid sixties studio LP offering from Judy. We call it PENTIMENTO the frances gumm album.

REQUESTS AND RARITIES
Anything and everything.

SUNDAY MORNING SPECIAL
Selections from Barbra's Streisand's 1963 performance at San Francisco's The Hungry i.

AN OPEN LETTER FROM FILM MAKER FRANK LABRADOR

As many of you know, I was the video editor and videographer for Jan Glazier's "Judy in New York" festival in 2011. I had the privilege of producing some special video presentations at that event, in collaboration with our own Steve Sanders. In April 2013, Jan Glazier will be having the next "Judy in..." festival in Hollywood. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the premiere of "The Judy Garland Show" during the festival, Steve and I are collaborating again to create a documentary about the making of the TV series based on his book. Personally, I am most humbled in Steve's trust in me to create this film, based on all his research materials and 80-plus audio interviews he conducted.

But we need your help! Though there are hundreds of performance shots from TJGS available everywhere, there are comparatively few photos from behind-the-scenes or from rehearsals. And of the few we found, they mostly come from the first three shows taped (Rooney, Basie, Minnelli). So I am reaching out to all the Judy photo collectors out there and ask if you could please check in your collection. If you have any rehearsal or behind-the-scenes photographs of Judy interacting with the staff and crew at CBS, please contact me atfrank.labrador@gmail.com.

Even if Judy is not in the picture, I would be interested. For example, at this time, we have no pictures of the guest stars doing their solo numbers.

And over the years, there have been contact (proof) sheets sold on eBay from TJGS. If you are the owner of any of these, I would definitely appreciate hearing from you.

We have poured a lot of time and energy towards this project already, but I'm asking for your help to make this private video presentation about the making of "The Judy Garland Show" TV series as spectacular as possible. If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact me privately at frank.labrador@gmail.com.

Thanks,
Frankie
