TJGE YouTube channel spawned something, The Judy Garland Concert Channel:

Unlike TJGE channel, this one will focus exclusively on Judy, and primarily on rare concerts.

This is all about the aural experience, there will be no gimmicks, no fancy montages, no bells and whistles, just Judy, and the sound of that voice, recorded at a really high bit rate.

The debut concert is a real doozy!
A restored version of the legendary bootleg recording of Judy's last ever performance at the Palace theater in New York. Recorded August 26, 1967.

For those who have trouble navigating sites like YouTube I have included the links to specific segments of the concert:

2. I Feel A Song Coming On and the Love Medley:

3. Just In Time and How Insensitive:

Meinhardt Raabe 1915-2010

Meinhardt Raabe, who played the coroner in The Wizard Of Oz has passed away.

94 plus years is a pretty good run and he got to take thousands of curtain calls
for his most famous role.

May he rest in peace.

A Study In Contrasts

Here are two 1964 shots of Judy waiting in the airport as she prepares to leave Australia after the fiasco in Sydney. Depending on which photo you saw in which newspaper you caould get a totally different impression of her demeanor.

This is the 8th TJGS soundtrack that Savoy Jazz has put out in 5 years. I think
that tells us a whole lot about how they feel about these recordings, and how
the record buying public feels aas well.

Congratulations to John Fricke and Ranse Ransom for another stellar release in this ongoing, and hopefully never ending, series!
