R.I.P. POLLY BENEDICT

Ann Rutheford succombed to heart failure in California yesterday. She wqas 91. Although famous for her role as Polly Benedict in the Andy Hardy series, she also appeared in classic films such as Gone With The Wind and The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty.

In 1997 she was offered the part of Rose in Titantic, but passed on it, which paved the way for Gloria Stuart's comeback.
