On This Day In Herstory (December 7, 1941)

December 7, 1941 ... a portrait taken at Fort Ord (near Monterrey, California), on the day Judy was there to perform on NBC's Chase and Sadborn Program, which was having a special broadcast from the Fort. While on at the base Judy was made an honorary Corporal in a ceremony.

Wonderful! I have this signed photo and the newspaper and contract that told of her visit at Fort Ord. Will try to scan it for the groups to see.

Actually, the news of the attack broke during Abbott and Costello's performance. They stopped, approached Col. C.H. Mason and asked him if they should cancel the show.
"Not for a minute," the colonel replied. "The suspense is now over, and the men now know what all this training and work has been for. Let the show go on!" Documented in newspapers.
