I like how you make it sound sinister.. but with Mama Ethel Gumm lurking in the background. Uh... unless my math is not correct, she was all of 15 years old. And around the old guard Hollywood. What good mother wouldnt watch over her 15 year old daughter?!! Give me a break. Why do you always put a negative spin on such things. Her mother was looking after her underage daughter. Why cant you go for the positive. Just askin'

That being said, from all that I have read about Ethel Gilmore, "sinister" could be a very apt description.....
