On This Day In Herstory (March 15, 1969)

Per David Price, "March 15, 1969 ... outside the Chelsea Registry Office in London, where she married for the fifth time this day. Flanked by new husband Mickey Deans and her friend (and Dean's Best Man) Johnnie Ray.

A personal aside:
Out of all the hundreds [perhaps thousands ...] of photos taken this day, I've always been amazed at how many of them show Judy looking terrible. From unflattering angles to frames that seem to have been chosen to show her at her worst ... the international reporting on her wedding seemed at the time ... and still today ... to be slanted in a manner to show her in the worst possible light. But good photos from that day do exist -- this color shot appeals to me because Judy looks well, and seeing her mobbed by photographers as she was so often in her life somehow seems oddly appropriate for use in this "Photo-a-day" series.

Judy's dress is such a beautiful rich color. It flatters her even if the style does not. Mickey's blue velvet suit is another late '60s mod mistake all in itself ... Calling the fashion police!!"
